Hubschrauber sind in Grönland eine Lebensader. Von bis zu 70 bewohnten Städten und Siedlungen verfügen nur 13 über Start- und Landebahnen für Flugzeuge, sodass der Transport in den größten Teil des Landes der Hubschrauberflotte überlassen bleibt, die eine Autobahn in den Himmel legt.
Draußen in den Siedlungen handelt es sich bei den Heliports oder Helistops einfach um ebene Flächen im Gelände, und das Gepäck kommt per Boot, Geländefahrzeug oder Schneemobil an. Anpassungen wie diese sind der Schlüssel zur Aufrechterhaltung der Verbindung Grönlands.
Neben kommerziellen Routen bietet Air Greenland bei Bedarf auch Hubschrauber-Charterdienste im Zusammenhang mit Bergbauerkundungen, Dokumentar- und Filmaufnahmen, Special-Interest-Fotografie sowie für Such- und Rettungseinsätze an.
